I thought it was old dye from Dharma so I purchased new hot pink from prochem. Still having problems. Mixing like a muddy red.
Any ideas?

What's the ideal temperature of water to be used?

Thanks in advance

I haven't had problems with the hot pink from dharma but I have a new container that I haven't opened yet.
I mix 4 tsp to 16oz of room temp water (my basement is 60 degrees)

Procion MX type dye should be mixed with tepid water, just enough water to make a paste with the dye powder. After you've made a smooth paste, then you can add the rest of the water.

Never use hot water to dissolve Procion MX type dyes. Acid dyes should be dissolved in hot or even boiling water, but doing so with fiber reactive dyes may use up their ability to react before you ever get it on the fabric.
