When I took M. Fowler's tiedye class two years ago, I bought a couple of mens, long sleeve, american apparel shirts from him.
Since they were men's shirts, they didn't fit my body. I finally altered them both so I could wear a M. Fowler shirt!
I can't seem to get a picture in the gallery, so here's a link for the first shirt:
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q222/ktaltre/fowler1.jpgI cut the sleeves off this shirt, used one sleeve to make gussets to insert in the sides of the shirt. I cut the hem off and cut the neckline down and left all the cuts unfinished.
The second shirt:

I also lowered the neckline; I used the hem of the first shirt as the binding for the neck. I used my own dyed knit for the side gussets. All the cuts were finished on this shirt. I can't wear this shit now - it's much too hot here!
