Okay--

My domain registrar has drastically upped their rates for keeping registration "private" which I regard as a necessity. Frankly, money is not growing on trees around here.

There haven't been any new posts to the wiki in ages, although it does get significant traffic.

Should I keep it up, or should I take it down?

Is anyone else willing to lend a hand submitting more content? I have learned a whole lot about multimedia through our school website. I could seen slideshow and videos as strengthening the site and can help with embedding it or formatting it if folks are interested in producing such.

Examples of what I have done may be found at http://wellscsd.com

Considering the fact that I saw this post just now when I was coming to this site specifically in order to get a link from the Wiki to recommend to someone, I think it should stay. I sent you a private message about the private registry issue.

I think it is valuable and hope it can stay.  I've been meaning to add content for some time but been horribly overwelmed making dyes.  Anyway, just my 2 cents.

Hi, Steve.  I too think it is a valuable resource.  I am going to check out your website, and will commit to doing stills or video on at least my 'fern' (thanks to Jaja!) or swirl stitch design, as well as some of my discharge experiments.  I would also like to make a donation to the cause $-wise, so if you can PM me about how to go about doing that, I will become a supporter in more than name only!  It's worth it to me to have the wiki, the gallery and the forum!

Thanks for all your hard work,

Judy

Thanks for the input folks!

All I really need is some content. I too have been quilty of not adding more, but to be honest, I haven't done much dyeing of late. I have been working more on technology stuff these days. I can't believe how much I have learned in the past 12 months--it's been very exciting. I need to transfer some of it here.

I am certainly willing to help format any multimedia content, as that is the thrust of my learning now. I see short videos and captioned slide shows as having much potential. I like the idea of keeping this knowledge free and open source.

As far as money goes, I have no problem keeping things going, although I may start setting up google ads and some affiliate links to offset some expense. Honestly, I have a chunk of server space that I can put in as many sites as I want. It's just the sticker shock of keeping the domains private (as they truly do--the first time I registered a domain, my personal info was public which led to tons of spam and junk mail.)  It jumped from a 2.95 to a 8.95 premium--so I am being a bit more critical about keeping domains.
