Whenever I try to invoke function that should show me what postings were published since may last visit, I always get this stupid reply, that couldn't be true.
"No topics or posts met your search criteria"

Is it only me with this problem? Any way to change this? Problems with date and time?

When I tried it just now, your post came up. When I go through the threads looking at every one which has been posted with the current day's date, I don't find anything new that did not come up with the "View posts since last visit".

I had terrible trouble with Michael's forums in this regard. All the time it would skip over a lot of the recent posts for me, so I missed a lot of stuff. It doesn't seem to happen to me for Steve's forum, though.

It might be a bug that is web browser dependent. I'm using Safari, which is not available except for Macs. Are you using IE, or Firefox, or what?

Or it might be just because I check Steve's forum more frequently, having gotten in the habit. Maybe it only works for daily checks.

No other posts for a couple of days - is the Tie-dye Forum working?

I go by the colored markers instead of looking for new posts and it seems to be working fine.  Pretty busy over here and haven't had much time for posting but I have been seeing new posts as they happen.

I use the markers too. I prefer to browse through the forums.

I strongly suspect that the problem lies with your cookies though. As it is, the phpbb software does not leave me with much to investigate, control, or alter such things. I suppose I could start getting into the code and such, but much of this is beyond my current skill set. I am learning everyday though! vBulletin gives much more control and functionality--but it ain't free and I don't have the resources to buy it.

I too use a Mac with Safari. I also use Firefox because I find that the open source browser seems to work best with open source scripts--which is what this forum is. I certainly recommend it for windows users as I find that most problems with the various sites I work with are only problems with Internet Explorer. IE is also incredibly slow compare with Firefox!

I offer this forum as a free community for all tie-dyers and pay for the hosting out of my own pocket. I know it isn't much--but it is what it is!

Haven't been here much myself--very busy learning about CSS, XHTML, mySQL, and php as create more websites!

How to use them? I have Mozilla 1.7.12 on HP-UX - the same one I had with M. Fowler's site.

I don't mind if there's other way to find out about new posts, just I miss alot, like Paula had experienced before.

When I post something, I can get correct reply from the system - I can see my post as new since last visit.

But if I do the same next day, no matches.
