Hey folks!

The wiki is moving right along, but still a work in progress. What do you think about what we have created so far? Anything that you think we need to add? Of course, feel free to register and jump right in and edit a page or create a new one!

I've been to the wiki a few times now and the reading is great! I'd like to do a little something on 'color' and show how I mix and invent my colors BUT I have no idea how to do that .I rely on obvious instructions for this kind of thing...could you get me started?

Step 1: Register on the wiki--it has a separate registration unfortunately.

Step 2: Click to the page you want to edit and look for the edit tag above the body of text. That brings you to the edit text pages

Step 3: Type in what you want. If you need to make a link to a new page, you can take a word that you want to use for the link and put a pair of parentheses around it like ((this)).

Step 4: Save your changes. Now the page will reappear with your additions. The link you create will have a question mark behind it. Click on the Question mark and it will bring up a blank page for the link you created.

There are formatting tools to the left of the edit text field. Mouse over those and they give you an idea of what they do. Also, look at pages that you like the formatting of in the edit mode and you can see the markups used to make headers, etc.

Don't worry about screwing up--we can always go back to an earlier version of the pages.. You can also play in the "sandbox" to experiment. There is a link to the sandbox in the left hand box.

That being said, I'm not overly fond of this wiki software. It is somewhat buggy and certainly a bloated piece of software that does much more than we need. I will probably be shifting to Mediawiki (the Wikipedia software) over the summer as I get more comfortable editing the config files and the like. Mediawiki is cool and slick for the user, but has almost no admin backend. Most is done by editing code from servewr scripts using a text editor. No real big deal, but it takes a little learning.

I appreciate any contributions. I haven't been able to get much done because of the end-of-the-school-year crunch!
