Steve,
Despite checking the box indicating I want the system to remember me each time I come to the forum, I am still having to log back on. Don't think this is a cookie issue as other sites and forums I have been to today have remembered me.

Its nice to be remembered cheesy

Kathy--

I'm new to this, but I see nothing different in your settings from those of others that may cause this--except that you are a moderator.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

Thanks!

See I knew if I put it out there, it would some how not happen again! I just logged off the internet and then logged back in and came here straight away. Lo-and-behold I was remembered!
Now I just feel like an e-dork  cheesy

So the 2x login and not being remembered is happening again. It happens only here and not the other forums I visit. Last night I cleared my cache/cookies when it happened, came back, logged in twice and it remembered me the rest of the time I was on the computer last night.
This a.m. I was not remembered and had to login 2x before it took.

Could there be something about the cookie from this site that might not groove with my system(using IE on WIN97) or is just finicky?

There isn't much I can do with cookies from this end. The admin control panel says leave it be unless you have really good reason to change it. All I can do is change the cookie name or make it secure. Since I don't have an SSL certificate I can't do the latter.

Looking in my cookie file for my browser, I have 2 sets of cookies--one set with itiedye.com and another with www.itiedye.com. Why--I do not know. Do you have the same? I suspect that may be the key to it.

Whatever it is--it has to be cookie related because that is how the automatic log-ins are handled.

Also, in the intervening time, I have not changed any settings at all.
